Getting Started is Simple:
Access Hi Scribe directly from your Smart Inbox (within the Toolbar for integrated use). If you encounter any access issues, please contact practice.support@econsult.health.
Important: Patient Awareness and Consent
Before using Hi Scribe, you must inform the patient that you are using a tool to assist with note-taking by transcribing and summarising the consultation. If a patient opts out, you must ensure the conversation is not transcribed.
Data Security: Currently, no consultation data is stored outside of the active session, and all data processing occurs within the UK.
Using Hi Scribe – A Quick Guide:
Inform the Patient: Inform that you are using Hi Scribe for note-taking.
Start Transcription: Click 'Start' on the Hi Scribe interface.
Conduct Consultation: Interact with your patient as usual while Hi Scribe listens.
Generate & Review: Hi Scribe automatically produces a transcription and summary for your review.
Verify and Edit: Crucially, review and edit the output to ensure accuracy. As the clinician, you are responsible for the final note.
Save to Record: Save the verified summary to the patient's record via the integration (with patient confirmation) or by copying and pasting.
Start New: Click 'Start new consultation' to clear the previous session's data and begin fresh. (Session data is also cleared on logout, refresh, or application closure).
Creating a template:
If you want a summary to be formatted in a specific way, you can do this using our template functionality.
To create a new template:
Click “Default template” on the transcriber
Click “Manage” in the dropdown that appears
Click “New template”
Then you can create your own template:
Template name: This is only used to help you find it again in the future. Give it an easy to remember and clear name.
Practice role: This tells Hi Scribe who will be using the template. Typically this would be a GP, but could be set to any role you have in the practice.
Section headings: This tells Hi Scribe what sections you want the summary produced using. Make sure you put each heading on a new line. Hi Scribe is instructed to omit any subheadings it doesn’t feel are appropriate for that consultation, so if you don’t see what you expect the first time you use a new template, this is likely why.
Type: Set this to “Personal” if you want the template accessible to only yourself. Set this to “Shared” so everyone in your practice can use it.

Adding SNOMED codes:
Easily add height, weight, blood pressure, pulse rate, peak flow rate, and tympanic temperature during or after transcription. These will be automatically coded and saved with the value to the patient record.
In addition, Hi Scribe will suggest additional SNOMED codes based on the QOF business rules. These will be toggled off by default and any that you want to save can be simply toggled on, to be included when you save to the patient’s record.
