What are local services?

eConsult allows you to sign-post patents to self-referral services available in your area, such as physiotherapy and mental health services or to other appropriate online portals.

With local services, a patient can refer themselves online without the need to contact the practice in the first instance. Practices report up to 7% fewer phone calls once local services are mapped against the eConsult condition templates.

You can list up to one local service per condition group, although the same local service can be added to any number of conditions.

Example condition groups and local services you may wish to assign:

  • Limb and Joint Problems = Physiotherapy

  • Mental health = Talking therapies

  • Eye problems = Specialist Eye Clinic

Most practices will have 5-6 local services which could include:

  • Mental Health

  • Physiotherapy

  • Specialist Eye Clinic

  • Sexual Health Service

  • Podiatrist

  • Contraception

How to get local services configured for your area or your practice

To add medical local services to your eConsult service, please email practice.support@econsult.health with the website link for any of the self-referral options you want to add.

If there is a specific condition template or a group of templates (e.g. adding Sleepio to specific or all Sleeping Problem templates) that you would like to add a local service for then please let us know via email.

We will aim to add your local services within 48 hours of receiving your email. If you are unsure of any local services and want further information please email practice.support@econsult.health or contact us using the live chat function.
